An amazing video from Andy Cairney, which documents his road to recovery from a horrific double patella tendon rupture at the Arnold Classic World Championships in Columbus Ohio 2010. Andy was told by medical staff that he would never lift weights again and that he would be in a wheel chair for 6 months, but his determination and courage was such that he was back walking in braces in April and walking unassisted in late May. Unbelievably he started back training in May and performed his first deadlift in July, and first squat in September!! Andy’s first deadlift was at the British Record Breakers in December and since then has competed at the Scottish Powerlifting Championships in Febuary. Andy is now training for the BPO British Powerlfting Championship in April and is aiming for his first strongman competition to be at the NEC body power in May.
Well done on an amazing recovery Andy, and all the best for 2011.
