|
|
Right 1st time wankers, here's a chance for you to get your feet wet providing you haven't done any strongman comps before. Saturday 3rd April, at the unit, just outside Edinburgh. £15 entry fee. T-shirts, and some other shit, trophies for top 3. Will take as many fuckers as want to do it (now capped at 30), up to a reasonable amount, want to encourage folk into this game.
UPDATE - Because of the demand for this comp (it filled up super fast, and still guys wanting to do it) we're increasing the cap to 30 folk. There's 22 down already, so anyone else interested, get in touch asap and get your name down. Because of the fact that there will be so many competitors, we've had to change the events, and now all will run head to head (deadlift probably 3 at a time). The entrance fee will be £15, but there will be t-shirts and trophies/medals for all competitors. It'll be a long day, so everyone will have to be patient, but we'll have plenty folk running this and helping out, so we'll strive to make it run as smoothly and quickly as possible. It'll all be inside as well, and be heated at least to an extent, so will be more comfortable for spectators and competitors alike.
We're also running a novice comp the last week in Feb, so if anyone prefers to do that, please let me know. Obviously if you do the novice, you won't be eligible for the first timers. Details on the novice comp will be posted up imminently.
Date remains the same, and events will be as follows;
Order of events changed to;
Event 1 - Axle press for reps (floor to overhead - standard sized plates) 80kg - 75secs - head to head
Event 2 - Farmers holds - 120kg for time. Will be high pick up, so it's purely a grip event. Head to head - Competitors will be facing each other.
Event 3 - Loading - 85kg stone, 100kg stone, 100kg keg, 120kg keg - to approx 50"
Short break, like 15mins or so just to give folk a chance to get cleaned up etc.
Event 4 - Deadlift for reps 200kg - standard oly bar, 75secs, straps allowed head to head
Event 5 - Medley - 220kg yoke 15m, 160kg duck walk 15m. - Head to head.
Any questions, comments etc please let me know.

One of my training partners should be doing the comp, he's only 16 but coming on leaps and bounds.
Thanks regarding seniors, most likely I will do the districts also got the 4nations next month then will give the bench ago then the strongman winter pb/record breakers comp if I've any energy left .
Pity about the british I think you would have done well . Would be good to compete against you next year although you'd be better getting tips off someone who knows what there doing and not a half wit like myself.
Remember it doesn't matter how you place it's more just a chance to get your feet wet and run around with wierd things with a bunch of other like minded idiots. |
